Metolcarb is a chemical compound from the group of carbamates . Metolcarb is used as an insecticide and works by inhibiting acetylcholinesterase .
Extraction and presentation
Metolcarb can be obtained through a multi-stage reaction. 3-methylphenol and phosgene react first . The product reacts further with methylamine to form Metolcarb.
Admission
The active ingredient metolcarb was never approved as a plant protection product in the EU. In Switzerland, too, no pesticides containing this active ingredient are permitted.
