action
Shikha and Ranjeet have been married for years and have drifted apart. The only thing that still holds them together is their daughter. This is why Ranjeet has been cheating on his pretty employee Neha for years, who is also the roommate of Shikha's sister Shruti Ghosh. So that nobody gets wind of the sex affair, he secretly meets with Neha in the apartment of his employee Rahul. Rahul, in turn, is in love with Neha, but initially does not know anything about her relationship with the boss.
There is also a lack of love with Shruti. She desperately fights her way through dating sites and meets with Monty, who she doesn't like at first. After several encounters, she still realizes his true values.
And Shikha also makes a new encounter - with the theater actor Akash. It starts harmlessly with a friendship that develops into love. Although she has fallen hopelessly in love with Akash, she does not dare to sleep with him and thus cheat on her husband.
Quite different with Amol and Shikha's dance teacher Shivani: Both in the 70s, they finally find their first love back after 40 years. A love that could have lasted for a long time if Amol hadn't given up Shivani for his career in America . A decision he can never forgive himself. Especially not when Shivani dies.
Ranjeet's affair is exposed and when Shikha tells about her relationship with Akash, her husband abandons her. Neha doesn't want to know anything more from Ranjeet because she has come to appreciate Rahul's love and care. This shakes Ranjeet. He realizes his mistakes and goes back to his wife. Shikha forgives him and wants to save her marriage, which also means that she has to say goodbye to Akash.

criticism
“I thoroughly enjoyed 'Life in a… Metro', the actors are great, the image of urban India is successful, the imagery is pleasing. But with a thin plot, badly used song montages and a lack of depth, a stale aftertaste remains. The film is not quite as clever, not quite as soulful and not quite as believable as it could have been, which is why you pay more attention to its show values. Pictures, stars, costumes, music. And here he does an exemplary job. Therefore: Take a look, immerse yourself in middle-class India and always have in mind that a true ensemble director could have made something better out of it than a sympathetic, short 3-star film.
