Mezőcsát is a Hungarian city in the district of the same name in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County . The place was raised to the rank of city in 1991.
Geographical location
Mezőcsát is located in northern Hungary , 33 kilometers southeast of the Miskolc county seat . Neighboring communities are Igrici , Tiszakeszi , Hejőkürt , Tiszatarján , Hejőpapi , Gelej and Ároktő .

Road No. 3305, No. 3307 and No. 3313 meet in Mezőcsát. Passenger traffic on the railway line to Nyékládháza was discontinued in 2007, so that travelers have to take the bus to get there.
