Michèle Renouf

Michèle Renouf (nee Mainwaring ) (* 1946 in Australia ) is a former model , beauty queen and dancer . Today she belongs to the British jet set , but is best known as a supporter of Holocaust deniers and is herself a staunch Holocaust denier . Efraim Zuroff from the Simon Wiesenthal Center rates them as particularly dangerous.

Life

Renouf was born the daughter of a truck driver.

In 1968 she won the Miss Newcastle-Hunter Valley title . She studied fine arts at Newcastle Technical College and received degrees in arts and education. She later claimed she graduated from the National Art School in Sydney. She became a lecturer in arts and media studies at the Queensland University of Technology . At times she had a relationship with the actor Omar Sharif . Her first marriage was in 1970 with Daniel Ivan-Zadeh, a psychiatrist. Based on the unclear origin of maternal Belarusian nobility led the title of Countess ( Countess ) Griaznoff. After the divorce in 1990, she married the New Zealand banker Sir Francis Renouf , with whom she was only briefly married. Since then she has been called Lady Michèle Renouf . The marriage ended in 1991 after Francis Renouf found out that her father was a truck driver and not, as Michèle Renouf claimed, dead, and it turned out that she was not the ex-wife of a count. If she was previously part of British high society as a charity lady , there was now a certain isolation in this class of society.

In 1992 Renouf received a diploma in landscape architecture. She designed the garden of Shakespeare's Globe Theater. From 1999 to 2001 she gave postgraduate courses in the psychology of religion at the University of London .

Holocaust denial

She claims to have discovered her anti-Judaism in 1997 when, while preparing a charity event in favor of the Globe Theater, a Jewish woman objected to putting pork dishes on the menu. According to her own admission, she then found her interest in history in 2000 when she heard about the David Irving case against Penguin Books and Deborah Lipstadt before the High Court of Justice in London. The trial during which she was at Irving's side restored a certain amount of attention that she had not had since her marriage to Sir Renouf ended. The following year she toured the memorials in Auschwitz and felt annoyed by the memorial. In 2002 Michèle Renouf caused a scandal in the exclusive Reform Club . A letter from her, with which she supported David Irving, she had signed “Lady Renouf, Reform Club, 104 Pall Mall”. Subsequently, unsuccessful attempts were made to exclude them. In December she ran for the club's board of directors. In 2003 she was expelled from the club. She traveled to another trial against Irving in Austria in 2006 for his moral and legal support. Irving was responsible for denying the Holocaust for violating Section 3f of the 1947 Prohibition Act . She called the laws of the Republic of Austria totalitarian . In December 2006 she was a speaker at the Holocaust Conference in Iran. She was also a member of the organizing committee for the next Holocaust conference. At the conference, Renouf, who pretends not to be an anti-Semite, attracted attention with anti-Semitic statements. As a speaker she said: “We always only talk about the Holocaust and Zionism , forgetting the root of the evil: Judaism. With their belief that they are superior to all other people, the Jews corrupt our culture. "Following the conference founded Renouf as part of a five-member committee, which apart from her Holocaust denier Fredrick Toben , Serge Thion , Christian Lindtner and Bernhard Schaub 's have revisionist World Foundation for Holocaust Studies . In 2008, the Holocaust denier Fredrick Toben was arrested in London on the basis of a European arrest warrant applied for by German authorities . Michèle Renouf then put together a team of lawyers who succeeded in having the arrest warrant invalid in Great Britain, so that Raving was released.

On February 25, 2009, Renouf received the Holocaust denier Richard Williamson , who had been expelled from Argentina , at Heathrow Airport and announced that he would give him legal support. The treatment of Williamson is "frightening", his persecution is the result of the new religion "Holocaustianity". In July 2011 Renouf attended the appeal hearing against Williamson at the Regional Court of Regensburg . She accused the Federal Republic of Germany of "lacking democratic tolerance" and the unwillingness to allow dissenting opinions.

In February 2018, Renouf gave a speech at the neo-Nazi demonstration on the anniversary of the bombing of Dresden , in which she denied the Shoah and described the bombing as the Holocaust. On the basis of this and another speech, the demonstration was broken up by the police.

Statements on the Middle East conflict

In an interview with the US anti-Semite David Duke on January 17, 2009 about the Gaza war , Renouf claimed that Hamas is fighting “for all of us”. She denied Israel's right to exist ("Israel never, at any time, had the moral right to exist") and declared that Judaism was "madness that has no morality."
