Michael Carlin

Michael Carlin is an Australian production designer and art director .

Life

Carlin began his career in the film staff in 1990 as a set designer for the science fiction film M.ARK 13 - Hardware . He then worked as art director, including on Backbeat through the Beatles' early years . From 1997 he works as a production designer. His films include the literary adaptation Ballfieber , the comedy Mr. Bean is on vacation and the action drama Bruges to see ... and die? . In 2003 he worked on the pilot of the television series Keen Eddie , which was his only television engagement so far.

He and Rebecca Alleway were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design for the film drama The Duchess in 2009 , but this year the award went to The Strange Case of Benjamin Button . Also at the Satellite Awards Carlin went empty-handed with The Duchess , here Australia won .
