Joey is a former Special Forces soldier. After he committed war crimes while on duty in Afghanistan, he deserted his unit and is now hiding from the military tribunal as a homeless man in the streets of London. He tries to numb his traumatic experiences from the war with alcohol and drugs. One evening he is ambushed and beaten up, but is able to escape and escape to the apartment of a wealthy man. Since he is away for several months, Joey steals his identity, ransacked his account and from now on lives in his apartment. He initially converts the new wealth into alcohol and drugs, but shortly afterwards decides to put his life back in order. He looks for a job as a dishwasher, but quickly rises to the debt collector and thug of the Chinese mafioso Mr. Choy. In the meantime he befriends the nun and homeless worker Cristina. When Isabel, a street friend, is found dead in the Thames, Joey uses his contacts from the underworld to find the killer and avenge Isabel.
