Michael Francis Burbidge (born June 16, 1957 in Philadelphia , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic Bishop of Arlington .

Life

Michael Francis Burbidge received on 19 May 1984 by the current Archbishop of Philadelphia , John Joseph Cardinal Krol , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On 21 June 2002 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Cluain Iraird and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Philadelphia. The Archbishop of Philadelphia, Anthony Joseph Cardinal Bevilacqua , donated him episcopal ordination on September 5 of that year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Allentown , Edward Peter Cullen , and the Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, Robert Patrick Maginnis .

On June 8, 2006 Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of Raleigh . The inauguration took place on August 4th of the same year.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Arlington on October 4, 2016. The inauguration took place on December 6, 2016.
