Paul Stephen Loverde
Paul Stephen Loverde (born September 3, 1940 in Framingham ) is an American clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Arlington .
Life
The Rector of the Pontifical North America College , Francis Frederick Reh , ordained him a priest on December 18, 1965 .
Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Hartford and titular bishop of Octabia on February 3, 1988 . The Archbishop of Hartford, John Francis Whealon , donated him episcopal ordination on April 12 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Daniel Patrick Reilly , Bishop of Norwich , and Francis Frederick Reh, Ex-Bishop of Saginaw .
On November 11, 1993 he was appointed Bishop of Ogdensburg and on January 17 of the next year he was introduced to the office. He was named Bishop of Arlington on January 25, 1999, and inducted into the office on March 25 of the same year.
Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 4, 2016.
