Career
The 1.88 m tall goalie began his professional career with the Red Deer Rebels in the Canadian Junior League WHL and then moved to league rivals Saskatoon Blades in 2000 , before finishing 80th in the third round of the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft selected ( drafted ).
First, the left catcher was used by the Thrashers with the Chicago Wolves farm team from the American Hockey League and the Greenville Grrrowl and Gwinnett Gladiators in the East Coast Hockey League and ECHL. In the 2005-06 season Garnett was called up as a back-up goalkeeper in the Atlanta Thrashers squad, during which time he completed 24 games for the franchise . In January 2006, the Canadian was sent back to the Wolves despite two shutouts, and in the 2007/08 season he finally moved to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk in the Russian Super League .
In the following two years Garnett played for the HK MWD Balaschicha in the Continental Hockey League , with which he was runner-up in the KHL in 2010 . After this success, the HK MWD merged with the HK Dynamo Moscow to form the OHK Dynamo , for which Garnett played until 2011. From May 2011 he was under contract with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk and was one of the statistically best goalkeepers in the league over the next four years, so that he was awarded goalkeeper of the month several times . After the 2014/15 season he left the club and was signed by HC Slovan Bratislava in July 2015 . There he scored an average of 2.84 goals against and a catch rate of 90.5 percent in 28 games. After the end of the 2015/16 season, he was initially without a club before he was signed by KHL Medveščak Zagreb in October 2016 . In mid-February 2017 he left Zagreb for SC Bern . SC Bern became Swiss champions in the same season, but Garnett remained without a commitment for the professional team. At the end of the season he left the Swiss club for England to join the Nottingham Panthers .
