history

In 1258 the place was recorded for the first time as Mönchfeld - Mönchwies - Wiese of the monk order. The monks from the nearby monastery ( Kláštor pod Znievom ) cultivated the wooded valley at that time. With the colonization by mainly from Bavaria and Austria coming charcoal burners and shepherds the valley was cleared and a Waldhufendorf founded.

In 1488 the place was officially founded as a German colonist community on the basis of the inheritance law that can be bought. Serfdom was not lifted until 1848.

Although Munnich meadow belonged until 1918 to Hungary before it after the First World War to the Czechoslovakia was ceded, the major part of the population has always been German. In 1921, for example, in the 1941 census of 1969 residents, they declared themselves to be German people. After the Second World War , however, most of the population had to leave their homeland. The route of these displaced persons led mainly to Mecklenburg and south-west Germany.

Saint Bartholomew Church

There was a small church building in Vrícko since 1631, which was consecrated in 1715 by Auxiliary Bishop Lukas Natali von Gran ( Esztergom ). In 1788 a new nave was added to the church due to the steadily growing population. The parsonage was built a year earlier and its own parish was founded. Before that, the pastor of the nearby monastery performed the spiritual duties .

The free-standing bell tower was also built in the 18th century.
