Michael Jude Byrnes (born August 23, 1958 in Detroit ) is an American Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Agaña .

Life

The Archbishop of Detroit, Adam Joseph Maida , ordained him a priest on May 25, 1996 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on March 22, 2011 auxiliary bishop in Detroit and titular bishop of Eguga . The Archbishop of Detroit, Allen Henry Vigneron , donated him and his auxiliary bishops, José Arturo Cepeda Escobedo and Donald Francis Hanchon , who were ordained bishops on May 5 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were John Clayton Nienstedt , Archbishop of Saint Paul and Minneapolis , and John Michael Quinn , Bishop of Winona .

Pope Francis appointed him coadjutor archbishop of Agaña with special powers on October 31, 2016 . With the announcement of the final impeachment of his predecessor Anthony Sablan Apuron OFMCap on April 4, 2019, he succeeded him as Archbishop of Agaña.
