Michael Lunardi (born September 21, 1992 ) is a former Italian ski jumper .

Career

Michael Lunardi made his international debut on September 30, 2006 at an Alpine Cup competition in Oberstdorf . After a few starts in this series of competitions and in the FIS Cup as well as at the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA 2007 in Courchevel and 2008 in Bois-d'Amont , he took part in a Continental Cup competition for the first time on October 11, 2008 in Falun . Shortly thereafter, in December 2008 in Seefeld , he achieved the first top ten placement in an Alpine Cup with an eighth place. In February 2009 he took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Štrbské Pleso and again in the Nordic Ski Games of the OPA in Szczyrk . In 2010 he also started at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten and on July 24 and 25, 2010 in Štrbské Pleso he achieved his first top ten placements in the FIS Cup with two sixth places. He also took part in the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2011 in Otepää and in 2012 in Erzurum . His best placings at the Junior World Championships were only a 44th place in the individual in 2012 and a seventh place in the team in 2009 and 2010.

In December 2013 he took part in the Universiade in Predazzo . He jumped in the individual from the normal hill to 23rd place and in the individual from the large hill to 22nd place. On July 5 and 6, 2014, he finished 28th at the Continental Cup in Kranj , which was the first time he scored points in this series of competitions, something he had not been able to do since his first start in October 2008. A week later, at the FIS Cup in Villach, he achieved third place, his only podium finish on an international level. In the summer of 2014, he was at the Grand Prix in Wisła for the only time at an event at the highest international level. With a 60th place, however, he did not get beyond the qualification. On August 16 and 17, 2014, he finished 25th and 23rd at the Continental Cup in Kuopio and thus his best placements in this series of competitions. Besides the jumping in Kranj, these were the only results among the best 30. He finished the summer ranking of the Continental Cup 2014/15 with 20 points in 84th place. In January 2015 he again took part in the Universiade in Štrbské Pleso, where he finished 31st in the individual on the normal hill. His last appearances at international level were two Continental Cup competitions on February 21, 2015 in Iron Mountain , which he finished in 51st and 50th place.
