Michael Olieman (born April 17, 1983 in Utrecht ) is a Dutch volleyball player .

Career

Olieman started his sporting career in 1989 at Rentokil ZVH . In 1998 he moved to Jola Olympus and two years later to SS Barneveld . After a season at AA-Drink Capelle , the diagonal attacker went to Ortec Rotterdam Nesselande in 2004 . With Rotterdam he won the Dutch championship in 2005. In the same year he made his debut for the Dutch national team . He had previously played in the juniors under the guidance of Teun Buijs . In 2006 Rotterdam was able to successfully defend its championship title and also won the cup. With the national team, Olieman won the European Volleyball League in 2006 . He was personally honored as the best attacker.

After winning the Dutch Cup again in 2007, he moved to Italian second division team Marmi Lanza Verona . The following season he played for the Japanese club Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza . In 2009 he returned to Italy. However, the contract with Edilesse Cavriago was terminated in September because the doctors of the second division team suspected a herniated disc in the Dutchman's back injury . Olieman then turned to his friend Renzo Verschuren and received a contract with his club evivo Düren . With the German Bundesliga team he reached third place in the championship and the final of the DVV Cup . In 2011, the league competitor Moerser SC signed the diagonal attacker, who also reached the DVV Cup final here in 2013 . Then Olieman moved to the Greek club GC Lamia .
