Michael Prochazka (born February 10, 1972 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ) is an Austrian social and economic scientist and sinologist .

Life

Prochazka studied economics, political science as well as ethnology and sinology at the University of Vienna , furthermore international relations at the École supérieure de commerce de Paris and completed a postgraduate course at the Jiangxi Caijing Daxue in Nanchang , PR China .

From 2001 on the board of directors of the Association for Service Abroad in Innsbruck, from 2005 of the Association of Austrian Foreign Service , Prochazka played a key role in the work of memorial servants in China at the Center for Jewish Studies . This was followed in 2008 by the John Rabe House in Nanjing as an assignment in the Austrian foreign service .

In 2003 Michael Prochazka designed the mobility program “experience european responsibility” and started implementing it. This program enables disadvantaged young people in Europe to integrate into the labor market through funded practical stays abroad.

From 2003 to 2005 Prochazka was Secretary General of the International Umbrella Association of Friends of Nature and responsible for coordinating the networking of 50 member and partner associations with 500,000 members worldwide. He was also involved in the implementation of the projects Landscape of the Year Lebuser Land in the German-Polish border region around Frankfurt (Oder) and Landscape of the Year Jura in the French-Swiss border region Jura .

In 2005 Prochazka founded the Cheng Gong Help Scholarship Program together with his wife Hong Yang . This support program supports disadvantaged children and young people from rural areas whose parents work in agriculture . The aim of this program is to enable children and young people who appear indispensable in their parents' farms to attend school, in which the resulting costs are reimbursed by the “Cheng Gong Help Scholarship Program”.

In 2006 he and his wife founded the association for the research and promotion of success factors in education . The aim and purpose of this association is to show the necessary success factors for fair and adequate education and to create a basis for access to education even in underdeveloped regions.
