Landscape of the year

The Landscape of the Year has been proclaimed by the Friends of Nature International since 1989 in order to draw attention to the endangerment and beauty of selected landscapes worldwide . Initially, the selection was made annually, since 1991 every two years, since 2007 three and since 2013 four years.

An award of the same name, which is given annually, has also existed specifically for Switzerland since 2011 .

Landscape of the year in Switzerland

The Foundation for Landscape Protection Switzerland (SL) has been awarding the “Landscape of the Year” in Switzerland since 2010 . The SL Foundation Board acts as the jury. The aim is to communicate the values ​​of the Swiss landscapes, to inform about their threats and to reward the local commitment to landscape conservation. The prize is donated by the Federation of Migros Cooperatives and Balthasar Schmid. The prize money is CHF 10,000. Previous winners were:
