Vegetables of the year
The Vegetable of the Year has been proclaimed annually in Germany since 1999 by the Association for the Preservation of Crop Diversity (VEN) in order to draw attention to the decline in these crops .
Decisive for the selection of the vegetable of the year are the endangerment of the cultivated plant, its importance as well as the decline in cultivation . Society strives to preserve the diversity of cultivated plants.
