Michael Schwertel (born November 5, 1973 in Augsburg ) is a German media producer , designer and professor for media management and digital marketing in English-language courses.

Life

Schwertel studied at the Art Academy for Media in Cologne with Stephan Boeder , Michael Graham-Smith and Dietrich Leder . After graduating, he founded the network “blurmedia” (2000) and the cross media production “Power-Toons” (2007). Since 2011 he has been Professor of Media Management at the CBS International Business School (formerly Cologne Business School).

He gives lectures and workshops on the topics of " Future trends in the media ", " Transmedia Storytelling ", " Crossmedia ", " Virtual Reality ", Design Thinking "in communication and" Augmented Reality ".

From 2010 to 2014 he was an elected member of the plenary assembly of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry , and from 2010 to this day a member of the media committee of the Cologne Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cologne Bonn.

Between 2007 and 2020 he was a member of the nomination committee of the Grimme Online Award and the jury of the Grimme Online Award.

Schwertel was also a member of the Scientific Committee of the 4th International AR and VR Conference 2018 and 2019, the Manchester Metropolitan University in England and speaker at the 2019 conference.

As a columnist for the press officer (magazine) , he is active on the subject of media trends in communication.

2017 was Schwertel consultant for the animated film projects to the Berlinale 2018 nominated film grant from the Robert Bosch Foundation , "The Film Prize of the Robert Bosch Stiftung Arab World", the co-production price with the Arab world.
