Edward Michael Trucco (born June 22, 1970 in San Mateo , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Trucco was born and raised in San Mateo, the son of a police officer. He originally planned to become a police officer, but discovered his passion for acting during his time at Junipero Serra High School.

First he began studying sociology and criminal justice at Santa Clara University . His parents advised him to also take theater courses at the university, where he auditioned for a play. Although he was not taken for this play, the director suggested that he take a seminar in the field of theater studies . After finishing the seminar, the same director suggested that Trucco change his major. Trucco therefore graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater Arts .

After graduation, he spent some time in the San Francisco Bay area , filming commercials, playing extras and working as a lighting double for Matt Dillon . A year later he moved to Los Angeles and mainly played theater there. During his participation in the play A Few Good Men (made into a film under the title A Question of Honor ) he was discovered by a talent scout, he got a manager and so came to his first supporting roles in film and television.

After a few guest appearances and minor roles in television productions, Trucco became known to a wide audience between 2005 and 2008 through his role as Samuel T. Anders in the new edition of Battlestar Galactica . Other appearances followed, such as in the movie Next alongside Nicolas Cage and in the hit sitcom How I Met Your Mother . Since August 2017 he has played a supporting role in the Netflix series Disjointed .
