Michael Wildegger

Michael Wildegger (born September 29, 1826 in Augsburg , † July 29, 1912 in Nördlingen ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Wildegger attended Latin school, grammar school and lyceum in Augsburg and the University of Munich . He was ordained a priest on August 6, 1851. He was court master until 1855, teacher and professor in Lindau and Haunstetten , and military preacher until 1859. After that, he was professor of religious studies at the grammar school in Dillingen . Between 1866 and 1904 he was a Catholic city pastor in Nördlingen. Here he was involved in founding the Maria Stern advanced training school, the Catholic Association for the Ries and the Catholic Journeyman's Association. Since 1882 episcopal dean of the Donauwörth chapter and since 1891 episcopal spiritual councilor . In 1900 he took part in the founding of the apprentices' association, the maids association and the association for outpatient nursing.

From 1875 to 1881 and from 1885 to 1899 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies and from 1884 to 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the Schwaben 2 constituency ( Donauwörth , Nördlingen , Neuburg ) and the German Center Party .

Wildegger was the holder of the Cross of Honor of the Order of Ludwig and is buried in the priestly grave of the parish priests of Nördlingen at the St. Emmeram cemetery, which is still maintained today by his parish St. Salvator.
