Walter reason
Walter Grund (born January 15, 1907 in Königlich Neudorf , Upper Silesia , † October 2, 1986 in Bonn ) was a German State Secretary .
Life
The son of a teacher and local politician of the German Center Party in Hindenburg OS , after graduating from the König-Luise-Gymnasium in Hindenburg in 1926, studied law , political science and economics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich , Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University Greifswald and the Silesian Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Breslau and completed these studies in 1930 and 1934 with honors . After working as a court assessor in Gleiwitz , Tost , Hindenburg and Breslau , he was appointed district judge in Neisse and Breslau in 1934 .
He then joined the financial administration in 1935 and worked for tax offices and the regional finance directorate (OFD) Hamburg until 1941 . Then he was a lecturer at the Reich Finance School in Leitmeritz . During the Second World War he did his military service in the parachute troops of the Wehrmacht from 1942 to 1945 and became a prisoner of war .
After the end of the Second World War, between 1945 and 1951 he was an employee of the control center of the financial administration of the British zone of occupation and again of the OFD Hamburg. In 1952 he switched to the finance ministry of North Rhine-Westphalia as an employee . In 1956, however, he returned to Hamburg, where he was now president of the regional finance office until 1962.
In 1963 he was appointed State Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Finance as successor to Karl Maria Hettlage . As such, he was in office until 1969 and was therefore a close associate of the Federal Finance Minister Rolf Dahlgrün , Kurt Schmücker and Franz Josef Strauss .
After leaving the Federal Ministry of Finance, he worked as a specialist lawyer for tax law in Bonn from 1969 to 1981 .
