society

Michaela Brandenburg started playing soccer in 2006 in the E-Youth of SpVg Eidertal Molfsee and moved to Holstein Kiel in 2010 . Still eligible to play for the B-Juniors, she made her debut on December 2, 2012 (11th match day) at the age of 14 for Kiel's first team in the 2: 7 defeat against Werder Bremen in the 2nd Bundesliga North . In the summer of 2013, she joined the second division VfL Wolfsburg II . Apart from a second round match in the 2014/15 DFB Cup , in which she played a 5-1 win against her former club Kiel in Wolfsburg's first team for over 90 minutes, she was used without exception for the second team in competitive games. Before moving to Bundesliga club SC Sand in summer 2019, the defender had 103 appearances (6 goals) for Wolfsburg II in the second Bundesliga.

National team

On November 1, 2011, Brandenburg celebrated its debut German U-15 national team in a 3-0 win against Scotland . In 2013 she took part in the Nordic Cup in Iceland with the U-16 juniors and won it after four wins in four games. She made her debut for the U-17 national team in the 1-0 defeat against Austria in September 2012 , but failed with the team in qualifying for the 2013 European Championship . Things went better in the following season: after successfully qualifying, she was part of the German squad for the U-17 European Championship in England at the end of 2013 and reached the final with her team, where she beat Spain on penalties and became European champion. Brandenburg was used in all five tournament games. At the U-17 World Cup the following spring, she was also part of the German squad, but was not used in the preliminary round there. In October 2014 she made her debut for the U-19 national team in a 2-1 defeat in a friendly against Sweden's selection , with which she qualified for the 2015 European Championship in Israel .
