Michaela Hrubá (born February 21, 1998 in Bořitov ) is a Czech high jumper .

Athletic career

Michaela Hrubá made her first international appearance at the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2013, where she also won the silver medal. In 2014 she took part in the U20 World Championships in Eugene , where she surprisingly won the silver medal with 1.91 m. A few weeks later she won the bronze medal at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing . In 2015 she took part in the European Indoor Championships in Prague , where she finished eighth in the final. In the summer she won the gold medal at the U18 World Championships in Cali, Colombia .

In 2016 she qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam and landed twelfth in the final with a jump height of 1.84 m. Shortly afterwards, she secured the gold medal at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz . This was followed by participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where they missed the final of the top twelve. In 2017, she achieved sixth place in the final at the European Indoor Championships with a jump of 1.92 m. At the European team championships, she improved her outdoor record to 1.94 m, which means she finished third and also qualified for the world championships in London in August. At the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , Hrubá won the gold medal by jumping 1.93 m. At the World Championships, she qualified for the final , where she finished eleventh with 1.92 m.

In 2018 she took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham , where she finished tenth in the final with 1.84 m. At the European Championships in Berlin she was sixth with a skipped 1.91 m, as well as at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow the following year with 1.94 m.

In 2017, Hrubá became Czech champion outdoors and from 2014 to 2017 and 2019 indoors.
