Mikhail Semyonovich Swetin ( Russian Михаил Семёнович Светин , Ukrainian Михайло Семенович Свєтін Mychajlo Semenowytsch Swjetin , maiden name Михаил Соломонович Гольцман Mikhail Solomonovich Holtzman * 11. December 1930 in Kiev , Ukrainian SSR , † the thirtieth August 2015 in Gatchina , Russia ) was a Soviet Film and theater actor .

Life

Mikhail Swetin was born in the October hospital near Bessarabska Square in Kiev. His father was a worker from Kryschopil in Vinnytsia Oblast and his mother was of Belarusian origin.

Swetin graduated from the Kiev Conservatory of Music in oboe class in 1955 . After his military service he wanted to study at the State Institute for Theater Arts , but was not accepted and instead played at the Arkadi Raikin Theater. From 1956 on he played in the theaters of the cities of Kamyshin , Kemerovo , Petropawl , Irkutsk , Penza and Petrozavodsk , as well as briefly at the Kiev operetta theater . In 1970 he moved to the Malyj Drama Theater in Leningrad and from 1980 to the Akimow Comedy Theater in Leningrad, where he worked until his death. He died at the age of 84 in Gatchina and was buried in Saint Petersburg.

Mikhail Swetin starred in 120 films, mainly in comedic roles.
