The Beijing BJ20 is a sport utility vehicle from the Chinese car manufacturer Beijing Automobile Works , which is positioned below the Beijing BJ40 .
history
BAW presented a first preview of the SUV in April 2015 at the Shanghai Auto Show with the near-series concept vehicle Beijing BJ20 Concept . Production of the series vehicle started at the end of December 2015 in Zhenjiang, China . The car was presented at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2016. It has been on sale on the Chinese market since autumn 2016. Technically, the SUV is based on the slightly longer Beijing Senova X65 . The Changhe Q7 , launched in March 2018, uses the same platform. Like the BJ40, the BJ20 is offered by the importer Indimo in Germany. The vehicle is also available in some Latin American states (e.g. Mexico ).
Technical specifications
The BJ20 is powered by a supercharged 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a maximum output of 110 kW (150 PS) from Mitsubishi Motors , which is also used in the Beijing Senova X55 and the Beijing Weiwang S50 . The SUV has a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, a continuously variable transmission is available as an option. Four-wheel drive is not available.
