The Beijing BJ90 is a sport utility vehicle from the Chinese brand Beijing .

prototype

Development dates back to 2010 when the prototype B90 was presented at the Beijing Auto Show . It was similar to the Range Rover . With a 295 cm wheelbase, the vehicle was 522 cm long, 201 cm wide and 200 cm high. Allegedly the vehicle had a V8 engine with a displacement of 5.7 liters and 332 hp and an electric motor of unknown power. In 2013 production was announced for 2014.

In 2015 a significantly revised prototype was presented. It was based on the Mercedes-Benz X 166 . The market launch was expected for the end of 2015. A V6 engine with a displacement of 3.0 liters and 245 kW (333 hp) and a V8 engine with a displacement of 4.0 liters and 310 kW (421 hp) were named. Both engines come from Mercedes-Benz and have two turbochargers . The drive takes place on all four wheels.

In July 2018 it was reported that some vehicles had already been delivered to authorities. From September 2018 the private market should also be supplied. The wheelbase is 3100 mm. The vehicle is 5171 mm long, 1995 mm wide and 1902 mm high.

The sales figures in China have only been known since January 2019 and are relatively low. In January 2019, 4 new vehicles were registered, in April 3, in May 26, in July 5, in August 1, in September 3, in October and November 2 each and in December 212. In total, that's 258 vehicles for the year 2019. 2 new registrations followed in January 2020, 1 in March and 24 in May.
