The Beijing Senova X55 is a sport utility vehicle from the Beijing Motor Corporation of China . The brand is Beijing and the sub-brand is Senova . The manufacturer himself describes Senova as a series . The vehicle is positioned between the Beijing Senova X35 and the Beijing Senova X65 .
Technically, the vehicle is based on the Beijing Senova D50 of the first generation, which uses the platform of the Saab 9-3 . The Borgward BX5 and Huansu S5 , which have been produced since 2017, are based on the Beijing Senova X55.

The Beijing Auto C51X concept vehicle presented at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2012 gave a first glimpse of the vehicle . The first generation of the X55 was presented in April 2015 at the Shanghai Auto Show . It went on sale in China in January 2016. From the end of 2016, the first generation of the X55 was offered through the importer Indimo in Germany. The car was also available in many Latin American countries .
Technical specifications
The Beijing Senova X55 of the first generation was powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine in two output levels from Mitsubishi Motors . The weaker drive is also used in the X25 and X35.

The second generation of the SUV made its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2017, just two years after the first generation was presented. However, it has only been sold since September 2018. The second generation is also being imported to Germany by Indimo .
Technical specifications
The drive in the second-generation X55 is taken over by the 1.5-liter gasoline engine from Mitsubishi Motors known from the first generation. Only the charged version with 110 kW (150 PS) is still available.

BJEV EX5
Under the brand BJEV also the second-generation battery-powered variant of the X55 as since January 1, 2019 BJEV EX5 offered in China. The vehicle is powered by a 160 kW (218 PS) electric motor with 300 Nm torque . The manufacturer specifies the maximum speed as a regulated 160 km / h. The 62 kWh lithium-ion battery should enable a range of 415 km according to the NEDC driving cycle .
