Michal Papadopulos [ ˈmixal ˈpapadɔ̹pulɔ̹s ] (born April 14, 1985 in Ostrava , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech football player of Greek origin. Papadopulo's father is Greek and his mother is from the Czech Republic .

Career

society

Papadopulos played for NH Ostrava (1992-1998) and Baník Ostrava (1998-2003), was loaned to Arsenal FC (2003-2004) and returned in 2004 to Baník Ostrava. On January 1, 2006, the striker moved to the Bundesliga for Bayer 04 Leverkusen . In the second half of the 2007/08 season, the attacker played on loan for Energie Cottbus . In the summer of 2008 Papadopulos moved back to the Czech Republic and joined the FK Mladá Boleslav . After a season in the Czech Republic, he moved back abroad and went to the Dutch cup winner SC Heerenveen . In early 2011, Papadopulos moved to the Russian second division club Schemchuschina Sochi . Here he scored five goals in 14 league games. From 2011 to 2012 Michal Papadopulos played for the Russian first division club FK Rostow . However, he was only a supplementary player and came to only nine league games in which he scored a goal. In June 2012 Papadopulos signed a one-year contract with an option for two more years with the Polish first division club Zagłębie Lubin . He stayed with Zagłębie Lubin for a total of 5 seasons and played a total of 125 league games for the Lower Silesians in league 1 and league 2. In January 2017, Michal Papadopulos switched to league rivals Piast Gliwice , where he signed a contract until June 30, 2018. After two years in Gliwice, during which he won the Polish championship in 2018/19 , he moved to Korona Kielce .

National team

Papadopulos went through almost all youth teams of the Czech Football Association from the U-15 . He played 27 games for the Czech U-21 team between 2004 and 2007 . In the summer of 2008 he was nominated for the first time for the senior national team and made his debut on August 20, 2008 in the friendly against England (2-2), when he came on in the second minute of stoppage time for Jaroslav Plašil . Since then he has played six international matches.
