Konstantin Vassiljev ( Russian Константин Викторович Васильев ; born August 16, 1984 in Tallinn ) is an Estonian football player of Russian descent. In 2010, 2011 and 2013 Vassiljev was named Footballer of the Year in Estonia .

Career

Vassiljev began his career at Tallinna JK , where he attracted the attention of the Estonian top club FC Levadia Tallinn for his accuracy . He moved there for the 2003 season and played five successful seasons there. During this time he also made his debut for the Estonian national team. In July 2007 he moved to Slovenia on a free transfer to NK Nafta Lendava after the former captain of Levadia was only used in the reserve team. He made his debut in Slovenia on February 3, 2008, but this failed because the club lost 2-0 to audience Celje . The first goal for his new employer was in the game against NK Drava Ptuj , which was lost 2-1. At the club from Lendava Vassiljev was a regular player for three seasons and was able to reach positions seven and six in the Slovenska Nogometna League. In the Slovenian Cup he made it to the semi-finals with the team in 2009/10. In February 2011 Vassiljev signed a contract until the end of the 2013 season with the current Slovenian title holder FC Koper . After half a year Vassiljev left FC Koper and moved to Russia to Amkar Perm . Here he made 64 league games in three years, in which he scored four goals. After his contract expired, he moved to Piast Gliwice in Poland . He was also able to convince in Gleiwitz and was an immediate regular player. For the 2015/2016 season he switched to the Polish league competitor Jagiellonia Białystok , where he signed a two-year contract. He did not extend the expiring contract in Białystok. He then moved back to Piast Gliwice, where he was no longer considered in the second year. In February 2019 he returned to his homeland and signed a contract with FC Flora Tallinn .

National team

After he was previously active in the junior division of the Balts, Vassiljev made his debut for the national team of Estonia on May 31, 2006 in a friendly against New Zealand , when he came on in the 66th minute for Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko .

His first goal for the A-Elf was in the qualifying game for the 2010 World Cup against Armenia in the Hanrapetakan Stadium .
