Michał Piecha

Michał Piecha (born March 31, 1979 in Rybnik ) is a former Polish biathlete .

Career

Michal Piecha, student from Rybnik, made his international debut in the Junior European Cup in Friedenweiler and came second in the sprint. In Pokljuka he took shortly afterwards at junior world championships and finished seventh in the relay his best finish. At the beginning of the following season he first appeared in Hochfilzen in an individual in the Biathlon World Cup and was 94th. In 2003 he entered the European Championships in Forni Avoltri and took 23rd place in the individual as the best place. In 2004 he was placed in the top ten in the World Cup for the first time in Ruhpolding . With the relay around Wiesław Ziemianin , Tomasz Sikora and Grzegorz Bodziana , he took sixth place. In Ruhpolding he also won his first World Cup point in the sprint in 30th place. The highlight of the season was the European Championships in Minsk , where Piecha won the relay bronze. His last international race was the sprint at the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin , where he was 64th in the sprint.
