Michal Tabara (born October 16, 1979 in Uherské Hradiště , then ČSSR ) is a former Czech tennis player .

Career

Tabara initially celebrated success on the Challenger Tour . In his career he won 11 singles titles and four more doubles. On the ATP World Tour he collected a total of two titles, one in singles in Chennai against Andrei Stoljarow and another in doubles with Radek Štěpánek in Estoril . In Grand Slam tournaments , he achieved his best result in singles by reaching the third round at both the Australian Open 2001 and the US Open 2004 .

In 2001 and 2004 Tabara was used twice in the Czech Davis Cup team . He played a single match in each of his appearances: In 2001 he was defeated by Adrian Voinea in the first round match against Romania with 1: 6, 4: 6, but the game was no longer relevant for the overall result. In 2004 he was victorious in the relegation game against Paraguay , but this game was only of statistical value, as the Czech Republic was already in the lead.
