Middefeitz is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue , which is part of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The village is 4 km south of the core area of Zernien. North of Middefeitz rises the 142 meter high Hoher Mechtin , the highest point in the Wendland .
history
The first documentary mention can be found in the documents of the Upper Grabow estate for the year 1364 under the name Middevetze , in Slavic meaning "place where there is honey".
On July 1, 1972, Middefeitz was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien.
