Prepow is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue , which belongs to the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The village is about five kilometers south of the core area of Zernien.
history
On May 30, 1417, the place is mentioned for the first time in the Wendland regest. On July 1, 1972, Mützingen was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien.
Telecommunications tower
About 1200 meters to the east on the Pampower Berg ( 132.2 m above sea level ) there is a telecommunications tower built by the Deutsche Bundespost . The structure, known internally as the radio transmission point Zernien 1 , is 108 m high and was part of the radio link to West Berlin during the division of Germany .
