Riebrau is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the integrated municipality of Elbtalaue , which belongs to the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The village is 1.5 km north of the core area of ​​Zernien.

The first written mention was in 1360 under the name "Rrybere". On July 1, 1972, Riebrau was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien. The community previously had an area of ​​2.85 km². For the census on September 13, 1950, 109 inhabitants, 25 households, 12 normal apartments and 69 inhabited rooms were recorded.

The Evangelical Lutheran church in Riebrau belongs to the parish of Zernien .

It was built between 1760 and 1763 as a rectangular half-timbered building with a west tower and three-sided east end. The interior is by free-standing wooden pillars in three ships divided; There is a wooden barrel vault above the central nave . In 1961 the large pulpit altar from the time the church was built was dismantled; the pulpit and the altar as well as the figures of a crucifixion group come from him .

The rectory south of the church is a stately half-timbered building from 1734.
