Spranz is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue , which is part of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The village is about three kilometers southeast of the core area of ​​Zernien.

The place was first mentioned in the Lüneburg feudal register in 1360 as Spranse or Spranzen .

In 1908 the place had twelve inhabitants.

Until 1928 Spranz was an independent municipality and was then incorporated into the municipality of Fließau . On July 1, 1972, Spranz was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien.
