Mützingen is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue , which is part of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . The village is about five kilometers southeast of the core area of Zernien.

On July 1, 1972, Mützingen was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien.
