Breese an der Göhrde is a district of the municipality of Zernien in the integrated municipality of Elbtalaue , which is part of the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
The village is 1.5 km northeast of the core area of Zernien. To the west, 2.5 km from the village, lies the Breeser Grund nature reserve . Breese an der Göhrde is located in the Göhrde , which with 75 km² is the largest contiguous mixed forest area in Northern Germany .
history
The place was first mentioned in a document in 1330 in the Lüneburg Lehnsregister under the name Brese . Breese received the addition to its name in 1564. The community used to have an area of 2.63 km². For the census on September 13, 1950, 109 inhabitants, 25 households, 12 normal apartments and 69 inhabited rooms were recorded.
On July 1, 1972, Breese an der Göhrde was incorporated into the municipality of Zernien.
