Mierzęcice is a village in the powiat Będziński in the Silesian Voivodeship , Poland . It is also the seat of the rural community of the same name .
geography
Mierzęcice is located on the northern edge of the Upper Silesian Plate, about 22 km north of Katowice and about 13 km north of the district town of Będzin . The Black Przemsa flows through the eastern part of the municipality .
history
The village was the seat of Gromada Mierzęcice between 1954 and 1972. The territorial reform was dissolved on January 1, 1973 and Gmina Mierzęcice was re-established.

history
Until 1918 the community was under Russian administration. After independence in 1918, the Russian administrative structures were retained. In 1927 the community came to the Powiat Zawierciański . In 1955 the existing community was dissolved and its previous districts were divided into two new administrative units. In 1973 a community Mierzęcice was created again. From 1975 to 1998 it was part of the Katowice Voivodeship . When the administrative reform came into force in 1999, it belongs to the Silesian Voivodeship . In 2008 the village of Mierzęcice was divided into the Sołectwo Mierzęcice and Mierzęcice II.

The municipality includes the 10 school offices (sołectwo) Boguchwałowice , Mierzęcice, Mierzęcice II , Mierzęcice Osiedle , Najdziszów , Nowa Wies , Przeczyce , Sadowie , Toporowice and Zawada .
Economy and Transport
Part of Katowice Airport is located in the municipality. Droga ekspresowa S1 and Droga krajowa 78 run through the municipality .
Mierzęcice Zawerciańskie station on the Tarnowskie Góry – Zawiercie railway line has been closed, as has most of the line.
