Miguel Ángel Guerra (born August 31, 1953 in Buenos Aires ) is a retired Argentine racing car driver .
Career
In addition to the unfortunate Marco Apicella , who only made it to the first chicane at the 1993 Italian Grand Prix in Monza , Guerra had a similarly short career in Formula 1 . In 1981 , the Argentine drove three laps for the Osella Squadra Corse at the San Marino Grand Prix before destroying his Osella FA1B on a wall after a collision with Eliseo Salazar . Before that, he had tried three times in vain to qualify for a Grand Prix.
Before he got into Formula 1, Guerra had already had three seasons in Formula 2 . He competed in the 1978 season for the Italian Scuderia Everest , for which he drove a problematic Chevron B42 with a Ferrari Dino engine. In the following season he stayed with Everest, which now brought a March 792 to use. In 1979 he achieved his best result in this racing series with third place in Hockenheim . 1980 had a difficult and unsuccessful year at Minardi .
After his accident in Imola , Guerra returned to Formula 2. When the success did not want to set again, he went back to South America.
He drove in the South American Super Touring Car Championship until the early 2000s , where he was one of the top drivers alongside Ingo Hoffmann and Oscar Larrauri .
