Miha Meglič (born February 21, 1988 in Jesenice ) is a Slovenian natural track luge . He drives in a single seater and has been competing in the World Cup since the 2005/2006 season , where he has been among the top 20 in ten races so far.

Career

Miha Meglič took part in international junior championships from 2003 to 2008. He was able to improve successively and achieved his best result with tenth place at the Junior World Championships 2008 in Latsch . In the World Cup Meglič since the 2005/2006 season at the start. In his first season he achieved the 17th place in the overall World Cup with three 19th places as well as a 21st and a 22nd place and thus his best overall result so far. In the following two years he always achieved positions between 20th and 24th in his five World Cup races and was 23rd overall in the 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons; In 2007/2008 he was the best of the six Slovenes who won World Cup points this winter.

In 2007 Miha Meglič took part in a world championship for the first time and finished 22nd in the single-seater in Grande Prairie, Canada . He also started in the team competition, but only came eighth and last with Nina Bučinel , Borut Kralj and Žiga Pagon . At the European Championships in 2008 in Olang he achieved 23rd place and at the 2009 World Championships in Moos in Passeier ranked 26th. At the end of the 2008/2009 season , Meglič achieved his best World Cup result with 17th place in Nowouralsk . Because he had only participated in three World Cup races this season, he fell back to 32nd place in the overall standings. He also achieved a 17th place at the end of the 2009/2010 season in Garmisch-Partenkirchen . This winter he again took part in five of the six World Cup races and thus improved to 22nd place in the overall World Cup. At the 2010 European Championship , however, he was not at the start.

In the 2010/2011 season , Meglič did not take part in the first four World Cup races. His first international competition this winter was therefore the 2011 World Championship in Umhausen , where he finished 26th. Then he also took part in the last two World Cup races, in which he finished 17th and 20th. In the 2011/2012 season Meglič took part in all six World Cup races again and finished 22nd overall with placements between 20th and 25th place. He also achieved a 22nd place at the 2012 European Championships in Novouralsk.
