Mike Pickel
Mike Pickel (born April 8, 1975 ) is a German football referee .
Career
Mike Pickel started as a referee in 1987 and is currently active for TuS Grün-Weiß Mendig. He began his career in the Rhineland Football Association and has been a DFB referee since 1998. In 2000 he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga , in which he has directed 57 games to date. In addition, he has led 59 regional league and 8 DFB-Pokal games to date (as of May 30, 2007). Mike Pickel is even more successful as an assistant referee and has been on the FIFA list, along with nine others, since January 1, 2007. In this role he assisted, together with Jan-Hendrik Salver , the German FIFA referee Wolfgang Stark at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine .
On May 21, 2011, together with Wolfgang Stark and Jan-Hendrik Salver, he led the final of the 2010/11 DFB Cup in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. On May 15, 2012 he assisted Wolfgang Stark together with Wolfgang Walz in the turbulent relegation game between Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hertha BSC (16th in the Bundesliga ), in which Düsseldorf rose to the Bundesliga with a 2-2 (first game 2-1).
