Milan van Waardenburg (born February 15, 1994 in Kerkrade ) is a Dutch musical performer . His voice is tenor .

Life

Milan van Waardenburg already had a connection to stage life in his childhood through his grandmother, who was also a stage actress. He gained his first musical experience at the age of eleven in a production of the Dutch musical “Kunt u mij de weg naar Hamelen, vertellen meneer?”.

From 2012 to 2016 he studied music theater at the Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg . During his training he received singing lessons from Edward Hoepelman and acting lessons from Marc Krone, a Dutch director and actor . He also took part in workshops under the direction of the well-known musical actress Pia Douwes .

During his studies he could already be seen in productions of Into the Woods and Company and in 2015 played the Jew Horst Lothar Koppel in “An Evening with Kurt Weill”, a production by Marc Krone . In 2015 he also played Roger Davis in the musical Rent in the Fakkeltheater in Antwerp , Belgium . In addition to his studies, he performed as a singer in a Dutch amusement park for three years.

Milan van Waardenburg celebrated his breakthrough in Germany in the role of Herbert in the revival of the musical Tanz der Vampire in the Theater des Westens in Berlin . He then accompanied the tour production to Munich and Stuttgart . He is currently playing in the musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame , which premiered in April 2017 at the Theater des Westens . From autumn 2018, Milan van Waardenburg could be seen as Dimitri in the German premiere of the Broadway musical Anastasia in Stuttgart. Since December 2019 he has played this role in the Dutch production at the Circustheater in Scheveningen.
