The Municipio Mineros is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the lowlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Municipio Mineros is one of five Municipios in the Obispo Santistevan Province . It borders in the north with the municipality Fernández Alonso , in the northwest with the municipality San Pedro , in the west with the province Sara , in the south with the municipality General Saavedra , and in the east with the province Ñuflo de Chávez . It extends from west to east up to 30 kilometers and from north to south up to 25 kilometers.
The central place of the municipality is the small town of Mineros with 18,340 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the southern part of the municipality.
geography
The municipality of Mineros is located in the tropical humid climate in front of the eastern edge of the Andes mountain range of the Cordillera Oriental . The region has only been opened up in the last few decades and was covered by subtropical rainforest before colonization , but is now mostly cultivated land .
The mean average temperature of the region is almost 25 ° C (see climate diagram San Pedro), the monthly averages fluctuate between 21 ° C in June / July and 26 to 27 ° C from October to March. The annual precipitation is almost 1500 mm, the monthly precipitation is abundant and lies between 50 mm in July and 250 mm in January.

97.6 percent of the population speak Spanish , 23.2 percent speak Quechua , 3.1 percent Guaraní , and 0.5 percent Aymara .
31.3 percent of the population have no access to electricity , 17.9 percent live without sanitary facilities . ( 2001 )
69.9 percent of the 3,492 households have a radio, 58.2 percent a television, 61.0 percent a bicycle, 15.1 percent a motorcycle, 13.3 percent a car, 35.7 percent a refrigerator, and 7.8 percent Percent a phone. ( 2001 )
