Minerve is a band from Neubrandenburg and Berlin that makes electronic, English-language synth-pop music.

history

Minerve was founded in spring 2002 by Daniel Wollatz and Mathias Thürk.

In May 2004, the debut album Breathing Avenue came out, which received many positive reviews. Live performances followed and a. with The Crüxshadows , Psyche and Spektralized . The level of awareness grew on the European market. The second album Sensefiction was released two years later and increased the band's popularity again. The album reached 16th place in the German Alternative Charts. A subsequent tour followed, where Minerve also played in Russia. They got the attention of a Russian label, which released the remix album Love Traces in 2007. During this time Andreas Wollatz and later David Kewitz joined the band.

During this time Minerve played concerts in Russia, Germany, France, Siberia, Ukraine, Turkey and parts of Eastern Europe.

With the support of the Warp Eight production team (Alphaville, Camouflage, Joachim Witt , Hubert Kah , Tokio Hotel ), new paths were broken shortly afterwards. The single Take Me Higher is representative of the musical reorientation of the band.

In October 2010 the band released their third long player entitled Please . The CD was technically refined by the mastering legend John Cremer ( Deep Purple , Pink Floyd , Kraftwerk , Eurythmics ).

After the successful support tour with And One , Camouflage and De / Vision , founding member Mathias Thürk left the band in April 2012.

In 2013 Minerve supported And One on the "Sextron" tour and in 2014 Minerve played at various festivals.

style

Julia Beyer came up with the US-American synth-rock band Iris during her My Universe review in Sonic Seducer , who “conveniently delivered a fantastic remix of the title track as usual ”, which is understandable when you think of of the time together at the Vision Music label . In spite of the "few independent facets", "fluffy sounds", "catchy melodies" and a well-used voice led to a "passable" result.
