Minetti Quartet
The Minetti Quartet is an Austrian string quartet based in Vienna . The name refers to a play by the writer Thomas Bernhard , who lived for a long time in Ohlsdorf , the birthplace of the two violinists.
Chamber music
The ensemble was founded in 2003 at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and has since performed in numerous well-known European concert halls and at renowned chamber music festivals. Examples are the concerts in London's Wigmore Hall , the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, the Palau de la Música Barcelona, the Konserthuset Stockholm, the Berlin Philharmonic , the Cologne Philharmonic , the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden , the Wiener Konzerthaus and Wiener Musikverein as well as the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg . Concert tours have also taken the string quartet to Japan , China , Australia , Argentina and the USA . The ensemble is now one of the leading Austrian string quartets of its generation.
The teachers and mentors of the Minetti Quartet were Johannes Meissl , Hatto Beyerle and the members of the Alban Berg Quartet . The ensemble also received artistic impulses from the Artemis Quartet and, as a member of the European Chamber Music Academy (ECMA), from the Amadeus Quartet , the Quatuor Mosaïques and the Hagen Quartet .
