Miriam Oremans (born September 9, 1972 in Berlicum ) is a former Dutch tennis player .

Career

Oremans won the silver medal in women's doubles at the Olympic Games in Sydney together with Kristie Boogert . In the final they lost to Venus and Serena Williams .

In her career, Oremans won three double titles on the WTA Tour . Her greatest success was reaching the semi-finals of the doubles competition at Wimbledon in 1997. In singles, she made it to the second round in 1993 and 1998, which she succeeded in doubles four times at the Australian Open .

Oremans achieved their best placements in the WTA world rankings in 1993 with position 25 in singles and in 1997 with position 19 in doubles.

Between July 1992 and April 2003 she played 62 games in the Fed Cup for the Netherlands , of which she won 35. Then she retired from professional tennis.
