Miroslav Koubek (born September 1, 1951 in Prague ) is a former Czech soccer player and current soccer coach . He spent most of his coaching career at SK Kladno .
Player career
Miroslav Koubek began playing football at Union Žižkov , and spent the last years of his youth at Admira Prague. His military service, graduated from the goalkeeper from 1971 to 1973 at VTJ Slaný. Then Koubek played five years for Poldi Kladno , from 1978 to 1981 he was part of the squad of Sparta Prague , where he was mostly a replacement for Miroslav Stárek .

Coaching career
The former goalkeeper began his coaching career at Poldi Kladno, where he worked until 1988. In the 1988/89 season he was assistant coach at Sparta Prague, where he won the championship and cup double. For the next two years, Koubek was a coach at VTŽ Chomutov. In 1992 he went to Germany and coached 1. FC Amberg , which he led into the Bavarian League in 1994 . In the summer of 1995, the club was insolvent, Koubek returned to the Czech Republic and again took over the coaching position in Kladno . After only half a year he left the club and became an assistant at Union Cheb . In Cheb , too , Koubek experienced the club's bankruptcy . Again he took over the SK Kladno.
In October 2000 he got the chance to train in the first division for the first time . He should save the table penultimate Viktoria Pilsen from relegation, which he did not succeed. The team only got 14 points in 19 games. After a year off, he took over SK Kladno for the fourth time in his career and rose with him to the Gambrinus League in 2006 . There they managed to stay up. Before the 2007/08 season, Koubek moved into the management of the club, and in the spring of 2008 he was Jozef Jarabinský's assistant at the Chinese club Tianjin Teda . In the 2008/09 season he led FC Zenit Čáslav to second place in the 2nd division . For the 2009/10 season Koubek took over the coaching function at FC Baník Ostrava. He led the club in the season to the Europa League qualification. After a bad start to the 2010/11 season , he was released in October 2010.
In the summer of 2011, Koubek took over FK Mladá Boleslav and again qualified for the Europa League with the reigning cup winner in the 2011/12 season . In September 2012 he left the club again. In July 2013 he was appointed coach of the Czech U-19 national team. At the same time he was hired as head coach at Slavia Prague in September 2013 . He was released in March 2014. In August 2014, he succeeded Dušan Uhrin junior as head coach of Viktoria Pilsen . He was able to defend the championship title with the club. After losing out in the Champions League qualification against Maccabi Tel Aviv , he was replaced by Karel Krejčí in August 2015 . At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he took over Bohemians Prague 1905 , but was released again in April 2017.
