The Mittlere Kreuzspitze is a 2496  m above sea level. A. high mountain in the Lechtal Alps in Tyrol .

Location and surroundings

The central and at the same time highest elevation of the Kreuzspitzkamm slopes down on both sides with distinctive steep grass slopes. In the north the Elmer Kreuzspitze is upstream, in the south the little independent Bschlaber Kreuzspitze . The predominant rock marl makes for a rich flora. The notch height of the Mittlere Kreuzspitze is at least 456 meters.

The closest places are Namlos in the northeast, Stanzach in the northwest, Elmen in the west and Bschlabs in the south.

Ascent

The summit is usually climbed when crossing the Kreuzspitzkamm on the Anhalter Höhenweg, for which dry conditions and surefootedness are required.

  • From the Elmer Kreuzspitze

From the Elmer Kreuzspitze (2480 m) on the ridge down to the lowest point (approx. 2370 m) and in places a bit exposed, but insured up again to the summit. The transition takes about half an hour.

  • From the Bortigscharte

From Fallerschein or from Bschlabs to Bortigscharte (2089 m) and over steep grass near the edge to the Bschlaber Kreuzspitze (2462 m). From there quickly to the highest point. This ascent takes about 3½ hours from the fall certificate.

  • Over the east ridge

From Fallerschein through the Leitental to the beginning of the east ridge in the Beilekar. On this exposed in extremely steep grass to the summit, which requires alpine experience ( difficulty I-II ).

  1. Exact value not known, stated value is a minimum value (can be up to 19 meters higher). It was determined from the distance between the contour lines (20 meters in altitude ) on a topographic map ( scale 1: 25,000).
