action

1st season

The series begins in AD 2307. Because of the exploitation of fossil fuels, mankind is looking for a new source of power. This source has been replaced by a massive series of solar panels orbiting the earth, connected to the earth by three circular elevators. One of them supplies a “great power” with energy.

With this almost inexhaustible source of energy, the three great powers of the world fought each other, which in the following time was only covered with war. These three great powers are the Jinrui Kakushin Renmei ( 人類 革新 連 盟 , literally: " Human Reform League" ), which consists of the Asian part of Russia, today's China and large parts of Southeast Asia, the Shin Europa Kyōdōtai ( 新 ヨ ー ロ ッ パ 共同体 , Shin Yōroppa Kyōdōtai , literally: "New European Community", English Advanced European Union ), which represents a further development of today's European Union and consists of all countries in Europe, as well as Turkey, and the Taiyō Energy to Jiyū Kokka Rengōgun ( 太陽 エ ネ ル ギ ーと 自由 国家 連 合 軍 , literally: "Allies of the Solar Energy and Free State Family", English Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations ), which was formed around the USA and consists of all states of North and South America, Oceania and Japan . These three great powers have been fighting a cold war over resources and political influence for decades. This chaos led to the creation of a private military organization, Celestial Being . This organization tries to end the war with the help of their humanoid machines, the so-called Gundams . The protagonist is the 16-year-old Setsuna F Seiei, a rather quiet and taciturn young man who grew up in the warlike Republic of Kurdistan . He is the pilot of GN-001 Gundam Exia . In his childhood he was a soldier who served under Ali Al-Saachez, who was responsible for the deaths of the families of Setsuna and Lockon Stratos, another Gundam master.

Since it was impossible for humans to surpass Celestial Being's technology, the three great powers formed the United Nations Army to counter the attacks of Celestial Being. They turned to Laguna Harvey for help so that they could successfully fight the Gundams. Harvey, who was once a member of Celestial Being, developed machines that came pretty close to the Gundams' powers and capabilities. When the United Nations nearly defeated the 4 Gundams, another Celestial Being team emerges, Team Trinity. These three pilots are a lot cooler and more violent than the previously known Gundam masters.

Alejandro Corner, a man who wants to exploit the destruction and chaos that Celestial Being is spreading over the world, to rule over a new, reconstructed world, gains control of Veda, Celestial Beings' supercomputer, which is located on the moon. Without their artificial intelligence, Celestial Being is an easy victim for the United Nations, who overwhelm with their numbers and the GN-X Celestial Being.

The United Nations Army launches Operation Fallen Angels to destroy the Gundams once and for all. They also discovered the mother ship of the 4 Gundams, Ptolemy . During the operation, Lockon Stratos is killed by Ali Al-Saachez. Meanwhile, Alejandro Corner attacks Gundam Exia while the GN-X try to destroy Ptolemy and the rest of the Gundams. Graham Aker, one of the best pilots in the United Nations Army, calls for a fight with Setsuna to avenge his fallen comrades and asks why Celestial Being exists. Setsuna defeats Graham, but Exia is damaged in the process and Alejandro's machine is also destroyed.

Celestial Being is considered defeated after the battle, so that the world will unite in the next few years under the leadership of the United Nations to the Chikyū Rempō ( 地球 連邦 , literally: " Earth Federation ", English Earth Sphere Federation ).

2nd season

Four years have passed since the battle between Celestial Being and the UN Army. Humanity has an independent army, the A-Laws . Without the general public knowing, A-Laws use inhumane means to try to suppress freedom.

Saji Crossroad achieved his dream of becoming a space engineer in order to keep his promise to Louise Halevy . But in the end he was mistaken for a member of the Katharon organization and was imprisoned. Louise herself is forced to become involved in the Union government and joins the A-Laws as a pilot of a humanoid machine.

Setsuna, who survived the fight against Graham 4 years earlier, has noticed the change in the world due to the actions of Celestial Being. With the death of Alejandro Corner, he dreamed of a peaceful world, but before his own eyes the reality was. The peace he had hoped for had been destroyed by the A-Laws. Setsuna tries to fight the A-Laws with his damaged Gundam Exia, but he hardly has a chance against the new models of the A-Laws. He is saved by Tieria Earth who controls his new Gundam, Seravee Gundam . On this occasion, Saji learns that Setsuna is a member of Celestial Being and is captured on the Celestial Being mothership.

With the combination of the GN Drives from Exia and 0 Gundam , the engineers at Celestial Being manage to complete their latest model, the GN-0000 00 Gundam , which contains the special Twin Drive System and is based on the Exia. In order to control the 2 remaining units, Setsuna tracks down the twin brother of Lockon Stratos and offers him the successor of his brother as pilot of the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam and after the three masters have freed Allelujah Haptism from a prison, the GN- 007 Arios Gundam a pilot.

Meanwhile, the world's armed forces are making preparations based on the recent actions of Celestial Being. Soma Peries has also joined the A-Laws, as has Kati Mannequin . While both are determined to re-enter the battle against Celestial Being, they are not very enthusiastic about the merciless tactics used by their new superiors.

Besides Celestial Being and the A-Laws, there is a third force that rushes into battle. This group calls themselves Innovator , consisting of Ribbons Almark and his 5 subordinates. Her contacts include Wang Liu Mei and Setsuna's mortal enemy, former KPSA leader Ali Al-Saachez . The Innovators also reveal that Aeolia Schenberg's plan has three phases: the unification of the world through the armed intervention of Celestial Being, the unification of the will of the world through the A-Laws, and the advancement of humanity into space under the guidance of the Innovator.

Motion picture

When the film was first announced, Jupiter was presented as a possible “place of origin” for the plot. Another trailer showed four new Gundams (00 Qan [T], Gundam Zabanya, Gundam Harute and Raphael Gundam), Grahams GN Flag II and an unknown Mobile Armor; many of the characters from the second season also appeared briefly.

Characters

Setsuna F. Seiei
Setsuna F. Seiei (刹那 ・ F ・ セ イ エ イ, Setsuna Efu Seiei ) is the protagonist of the anime and has been a member of Celestial Being since he was around 14 years old. At the beginning he is the pilot of GN-001 Gundam Exia , in the 2nd season he controls its further development, the GN-000 00 Gundam . Setsuna's real name is Soran Ibrahim , Setsuna is his code name on Celestial Being. He was a child soldier in the Republic of Kurdistan and killed his parents under the leadership of Ali Al-Saachez. From then on he developed a deep hatred for Saachez. Because of his childhood experience, Setsuna doesn't believe in any god or anything like that. He believes that war can only be eliminated through direct confrontation. Because of this, he shows very little tolerance for politics or diplomacy, believing that their "peace talks" only prolong the conflict and make people unhappy.
In the second season, due to his growing skills as a pilot and his belief in his comrades, he gradually developed into a leading figure and unofficial squadron leader Celestial Beings.
Lockon Stratos
Lockon Stratos (ロ ッ ク オ ン ・ ス ト ラ ト ス, Rokkuon Sutoratosu ), whose real name is Neil Dylandy , decided to join Celestial Being when his parents and little sister were killed in a terrorist attack in Ireland. Because of this, he hates terrorism more than anything. As the elder of the 4 masters, he is something like the leader of the Gundam masters. He has a more carefree, extravagant personality than the rest of the Masters. He is the owner of the orange Haro , which he uses to control the GN-002 Gundam Dynames . Just like Setsuna, he has a personal dislike for Ali Al-Saachez, who is responsible for the death of his family. Lockon is killed in a duel with Ali-Al Saachez at the end of Season 1.
Four years later, Setsuna F. Seiei recruited Neil Dylandy's twin brother, Lyle Dylandy, as his successor. Lyle, who is far from being a sniper like his brother, also adopts the code name Lockon Stratos and becomes the pilot of the GN-006 Cherudim Gundam , the further development of the Dyname. Lyle himself differs significantly from Neil in terms of character. He has long since overcome the deaths of his parents and his sister and is not looking for revenge when he learns the truth about their death. In addition, he seems much more distant from the other masters than his brother.
Allelujah Haptism
Allelujah Haptism (ア レ ル ヤ ・ ハ プ テ ィ ズ ム, Areruya Haputizumu ) spent his childhood as an orphan in the Human Reform League as a super soldier experiment, codenamed "E-57". While he is always polite to the other masters, Allelujah also has a harsh, labile and sadistic side to it called Hallelujah, which was the result of the super soldier experiment. His main antagonist is another experiment from the Super Soldier program, high-bay warehouse pilot Soma Peries , who shares a mysterious connection with him. He is the pilot of the GN-003 Gundam Kyrios and later of its further development, the GN-007 Arios Gundam , which both have a very high maneuverability and can be transformed into an airplane-like mobile armor. Allelujah was captured by the UN Army during the time jump between the two seasons in the 4 years, but he is later freed by the 3 Gundam Masters and joins Celestial Being again.
Tieria earth
Tieria Earth (テ ィ エ リ ア ・ ア ー デ, Tieria Āde ) is the Gundam Master of the heavily armored GN-005Gundam Virtue and its successor unit GN-008 Seravee Gundam . Tieria initially carries out Veda's missions with great respect and considers one assignment more important than anything else. As a result of his arrogance and cold attitude towards others, his connections with the other Gundam Masters are not exactly the best. Only towards Lockon does he open up a little. Of all the Gundam Masters, Tieria is the most enigmatic, nothing is known of his past, and he has a strange connection with the Innovators. Unlike the other Gundam Masters, Tieria continued to work for Celestial Being after the final fight at the end of the season.
In the second season, however, Tieria's character has partially changed completely. Where he used to look ice cold, he is now the one who cares most about the well-being of the other Celestial Beings members.
