Modesto Augusto Vieira (born December 2, 1865 in Brumado do Matto Dentro , Minas Gerais , Brazil , † September 27, 1916 in Mariana ) was auxiliary bishop in Mariana .
Life
Modesto Augusto Vieira studied philosophy and catholic theology at the seminary in Mariana . He received on 11 May 1890, the sacrament of Holy Orders . Vieira then worked as a pastor in Caratinga .
On May 12, 1911, Pope Pius X appointed him the first bishop of São Luíz de Cáceres . The Archbishop of Mariana, Silvério Gomes Pimenta , donated him episcopal ordination on July 25, 1912 ; Mitkonsekrator the Bishop of was Pouso Alegre , Antônio Augusto de Assis .
Pope Pius X appointed him on January 12, 1914 titular bishop of Archelaïs and auxiliary bishop in Mariana.
