Mohe ( Chinese  漠河 县 , Pinyin Mòhé Xiàn ) is a district in the extreme northwest of the Great Hinggan Mountains administrative district in the Chinese province of Heilongjiang . Its name comes from the Tungusian people Mohe . The circle was founded on May 14, 1981. Its northern border, formed by the Heilong Jiang River , connects it with Russia . The Heilong Jiang ( Amur ) is formed by the confluence of the Ergun coming from the south and the Shilka river from the northwest, directly at the border triangle with Russia, Mohe and the independent city Ergun of the autonomous region Inner Mongolia .

This is where the northernmost point of China is located at 53 ° 49 'north latitude and this is where the Great Hinggan Mountains begin . The main town and administrative seat of the district is the large community of Xilinji, which is centrally located in its center. To the west and south, Mohe is bordered by the district-free city of Hulun Buir , and to the east by Tahe County . Mohe has an area of ​​18,367 km² and 80,982 inhabitants (2000 census); Population density 4.41 inh / km². It consists of four large municipalities, one municipality and five forest areas.
